Jared Black

Jared’s love for financial planning began while studying at Brigham Young University – Idaho, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Finance. After graduation, he worked for a venture capital firm, where he focused on raising funds for startup companies around the world. Recently, Jared expanded his industry knowledge even further by earning a master’s degree in Financial Planning and Analytics from Utah Valley University, showcasing just how dedicated he is to the field of financial planning. Having been introduced to TRS as an intern during his time at BYU-Idaho, Jared was eager to return to the team, contribute to the organization, and assist clients in achieving their retirement goals.

Originally from Pasco, Washington, Jared was able to gain experience in a wide range of occupations. His work ethic was honed while hay farming during his high school and college years. This instilled a deep appreciation for hard work and perseverance, which he brings into his role today.

Jared currently resides in the Tri-Cities area with his wife, and they look forward to welcoming a baby boy into their family. Outside of the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife, and they share a love for traveling and skiing. One of his life goals is to combine his two most significant interests and ski on every continent. If you enjoy skiing, Jared highly recommends Jackson Hole and Targhee, Wyoming.
